Suggested Activities: Two ways to draw your own self-portrait

Hello, everyone! Following our Quiz, I'm leaving here two suggestions on how to take your self-portrait to another level. Hope you all enjoy them!

ACTIVITY #1

Objective: Make your self-portrait by dividing your face in two halves -
i) How does the world sees you?
ii) How do you see yourself?

Step 1: Take a selfie or draw your self-portrait.

Step 2: Cut your self-portrait in half.

Step 3: Complete your face (based on the photo or on the drawing) with a representation of how you see yourself.

Step 4: Share with us the results!

Step 1: With the help of a picture of your face, use your pencil to draw the outline of your head after putting the selected photo under a blank paper

Halloween was amazing!

Hello, everyone!
Today in our classroom, we had the spookiest Halloween ever! Check out some pictures below:

Joker and Grim Reaper were in full scary costume for our Halloween Day!
A lot of vampires were seen at school that day...

Who said skeletons are not colorful individuals?

P.S. Fourth and Fifth Grade in their collective photo shoot!
One of our activities was Spider Web's Walk!
On the hallway, we had to divert the obstacles and cross to the other side of the spider's web without touching the floor!

For our second Halloween activity, we played "Who is who in Halloween?"

Dancing your feet off to a "Scary Song Trivia" was the best ending to our day!
Let's all have a scary Halloween!

Art Gallery 101

Hello, everyone! In our class, last week, we created our own artwork using many different art forms, including painting, drawing and sculpting! Check out some of the results!

Some of our students decided to paint!
Others chose sculpting as their art form...

P.S: What is the connection between your artwork and the sculptures and paintings we saw earlier this year at Fundação Roberto Marinho?

Do you know the Braille Alphabet?

Hello, everyone! Today in our class we put ourselves in a blind person's shoes for a moment!

We learned a little about the Braille Alphabet.

Also, we searched on the internet for some information about Louis Braille, the creator of the Braille Alphabet.

At last, we wrote our names in Braille with Play Doh.

Look at the results!

Check the following link about Louis Braille if you want to know more about him:<https://www.projectbritain.com/calendar/january/louisbraille.html>

Food for thought!

Hello, everyone! It is music time!
Watch the videos below and think about how they can be related. Don't forget to post a comment of what you thought!

The first video is from the movie "The Greatest Showman", which shows the story of a Circus and its peculiar members. What do you think is the message of this song?

The second song is from singer Kelly Clarkson, winner of the American Idol. Listen to the song and, then, google the lyrics. What do you think is the message of this song?

Remember to write the words you know in each song and bring them to class to share with your friends.

Cooking Caldo Verde!

 Hello, everyone!
Today, in our class, we cooked the portuguese recipe Caldo Verde.

First, we checked if we had all the ingredients - onion, potatoes, collard greens and sausage.

Then, the students had a chance to cut potatoes and collard greens, peel the onion and chop the sausage.

After boiling water, we put all the potatoes to cook with half a sausage and the onion.

After this class, we registered everything in our My Activities notebook. Check the full recipe there!

Also, check out the video we saw in class, starring Grandma Berta:
